Dogs don't judge us or hold grudges. They love us no matter what, and their acceptance and affection can be incredibly comforting and reassuring. Here are the few that have left footprints in my heart ...

SUNDANCE
From Neglect to Love: A Border Collie's Second Chance
This title depicts the change and new beginnings that rescued dogs like Sundance may have when they find forever homes with compassionate individuals. My heart will always have a special place in it for Sundance, the first dog I ever rescued. Despite his tragic history of neglect and abuse, he was the happiest dog I've ever encountered. Everyone he met felt the love and kindness he was so full of. Sundance is a touching tale of second chances and redemption for both the rescued and the person who saved them.

SOLO
Solo, a loyal and loving Border Collie, entered my life shortly after the passing of Sundance - when I needed love and support the most. As I battled cancer, Solo became my unwavering companion, always by my side during the darkest days. With his gentle eyes and warm presence, he taught me how to love again after loss, even in the face of adversity. His wagging tail and comforting presence were a constant reminder that there was beauty and joy in every moment I spent with him.

THE 'T" FAMILY: TROUBLE (AKA MR. TROUBS) AND TILLY-LILLY
After Solo crossed the rainbow bridge, Trouble enter my life. He was the first dog whose name didn't begin with "S" - surprising because he can be a little shit sometimes. We tried names like "Scout," "Slinky," and "Skittles," but none of those stuck, so he remained "Trouble," or "Mr. Troubs," as I call him. He started out his life as a therapy dog for a child with autism? Really? A bat-crazy, always herding, stalking bolder collie as a therapy dog? Um no. Trouble is one of the smartest and yet most sensitive dogs I've ever owned.
It made sense with the next dog, to keep the T thing going. Tilly-Lilly was picked up from Interstate 10; she and two other strays were found wandering the highway. Tilly wants to meet everyone and them move on with her life - a traveler of all things living. She has the kindest soul and is in training to become a therapy dog. Who wouldn't be swooned by her beautiful blue eyes? Sinatra would have been jealous.
